Paint Night & LASIK

I think I may be late to the party - as usual!  The paint party that is.  I have seen so many pictures of other people doing it and it looked fun but I never really liked the picture.  Like I knew I wouldn't hang a picture of an Owl on my wall.  Until I saw this painting and had to do it... and let me say - IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!  Kara brought the wine, Jill brought fruit, I brought cheese, crackers and pepperoni and they provide the space and all the necessities.  For $35 it was well worth it and I swear I am hanging it in the dining room, when ever that gets done :)  Here are some pics:

Complete Concentration over here!!

Kara won!  Her painting was by far the best.

They were supposed to be whispy branches, I apparently have a very heavy paint hand so I was painting straight up trees.  Hahahaha  Can't wait to do this again!!

And about these eyeballs... With Steve leaving his union in another year or so I have decided I really want to have LASIK done.  It's not that my contacts are a pain in the booty, they aren't.  I wear dailies so fresh pair every morning and I take them out and put them on my nightstand before bed.  (gross - I know)  But I don't buy solutions or anything and the contacts are free.  (well, free to me - thanks Meatball's union)  However, Readers are in ALL of our futures at some point and while the LASIK is free it would be nice to take advantage of a few years without glasses/contacts.  My eyes have gotten so bad I cant even see the alarm clock anymore and I guess at water parks I do worry about being splashed.  SO, I attended the open house and all I have to say is the valium better be strong enough to make me want to get in that chair.  I think I can do it, er I mean I am planning on it.  I have work coverage, appointments have been made, and I am suffering wearing glasses full time for 2 weeks.  But eye balls freak me out!!!  Wish me luck, big eye exam on March 1st and if all goes as planned, surgery March 3rd.  Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk.  Obnoxious sorry, eyeballs make me TWITCH.

Stupid Germs

This entire family has had one member sick for the past month - SERIOUSLY.  I am about to lose my mind.  The pediatrician reminded me that it will go through the house and affect everyone.  I was kind of hoping she meant everyone but me!  But after taking care of everyone for weeks, I finally got it.  The stomach bug and then that turned into a cold/sinus infection.  I am on antibiotics and I am on the mend so why not blog??

I don't think of a family of 5 as big.  Unless I am loading the dishwasher at 10am after 1 meal on a Saturday with us all home.  But I guess some people do see us as a big family nowadays when people have less children.  This might explain the "family size" orange juice or packages of Oreo's I buy :)

But I wouldn't have it any other way.  Even if it means passing these germs around from 1 member to another over and over again.  So Brady got pneumonia, then the baby had croup and an ear infection, then Steve got "the pneumonia" followed by Pierce having a nasty cold.  Oh yeah and did I mention Pierce likes to puke on random Saturdays at random times just to keep it fun and exciting?  Hopefully, this will be the end of it!  But there has been a lot of snuggles.

Our downstairs remodel hasn't started yet.  Which is kind of a good thing since having the house torn apart would have just added to the fun!  We are waiting on cabinets and hardwood floors to arrive. Our garage is full of new appliances and a big TV for meatball :)

I don't know about your kids but ours all need a new Spring wardrobe.  And with our family vacation happening in May we have a deadline.  New sandals, a million pairs of shorts and shirts, new jammies, and bathing suits.  Thank GOD for online shopping,  Hubs and I just made a trip to the outlet for some polo shirts.  With outlet pricing and a postcard coupon I got their shirts for less than $10.  And they make it so easy to get the same colors for everyone.  Target, Gap, Boden, Hannah Anderson & Stride Rite for the rest (eventually).  And I got their suits from Carters.  I usually only buy pajamas from there but with the sizes I have to buy 8, 4 and 3, things are getting harder and harder.  If I can get if for the big boy, I can't get it for the babies and vice versa.  The struggle is REAL :)  Anyway, the boys will be rocking these trunks around the pool in Disney.
Buying boys clothes can be so boring sometimes and just feels like a job.  So feel free to suggest any new places!!!  I just found www.bellabliss.com for the boys.  OMG the cutest little tees ever...

Who else started buying and stashing items for those Easter Baskets??  Brady has specifically asked for a Rowdy Roddy Piper wrestler and P wants a big Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.  Speaking of Super Heroes can you guess the theme for the Boys Birthday Party in May.
