OK, so here we are 3.5 weeks in. I have a sink back and all major appliances - YAY! I have never been so happy to see my keurig! You can see our white subway tile that I am in LOVE with peaking out.
I do not recommend remodeling with a 2 and 3 year old. The total sliver count was 2 for Pierce and 3 for Reid. It sucked to try and stay out of the house everyday while the guys were working. I was spending money on stupid things and eating out. Eating off paper was fun - easy clean up. But sippy cups still need a washing so the tub it was - after it got a good cloroxing. UGH!
Anyway, thank God for Pinterest! Pinterest shows you what you like and then you can try and re-create it! This whole experience has taught me why I am a nurse and not an interior decorator. I want to share the pic off Pinterest that inspired most of my choices.
I just like the clean-ness of this look. If you remember my old kitchen was oak and blue. I even love the hot pink little touches in this pic!
And as badly as I wanted marble for our island it didn't happen. The countertop lady really educated me and even showed me a piece of marble handled by customers and it was awful! Loaded with scratches. And when you just wanna slice some strawberries for 3 hungry boys you don't always reach for the cutting board. Anyway, here are some of the choices for quartz that are marble-like:
We went with the coarse carrara, lower left. And it can come in now anyday!! Still waiting on that piece.
The whole downstairs needs a good painting which will happen May 14th. And then I can show you some real pics. My mom and I are taking the kids to Rochester Museum of Play for the day while the boys paint. I have been assured they can get it all done in 1 day - cross your fingers!!! And then we are off to Disney for some fun in the sun.

3 Splurges for ME
It's tax time and most of my money is going towards our Disney vacation but... I should get something for me. I work hard and being a mommy isn't an easy job, especially lately.
Little Pierce broke his arm last week Tuesday. He was wrestling with his brothers and pillow fighting and I think fell on it. I say think because we got a couple of different versions of what happened from our 7 year old. So a quick trip to the Pediatric Emergent Care, and he got a splint. Well, lets just say that splint didn't stand a chance. It was unwrapping the next morning. Luckily, mo works with Surgeons and was able to get him in for a cast the next day. He picked red like Spider-Man (no surprise) and he was SO brave. He didn't cry once and he had to have his arm manipulated and have more x-rays. And from a mom standpoint when the Doctor said I can give him a cast that can get wet - Hallelujah!!! Here is little man :

Then on Sunday the baby, who I should probably stop calling the baby because he is 2.5, had a serious allergic reaction. Covered and I mean covered in hives. He looked like Shrek, his face was so swollen and his lips. When he started coughing I knew we had to go.
So another trip to the same place to see the same Doctor and get some epinephrine. Which is no fun! First they get a shot with a big needle in their leg and then the jitters set in. Reid was shaking, restless, couldn't sit still just whined and whined. And by the end of it I was ready to WINE too - get it! Thankfully, he is OK. I have no idea what the reaction was to but we will be having allergy testing done soon. And hopefully it won't be anything major like milk or eggs.
So back to the Splurge part right!?! This girl bought some new Kate Spade shades, Tory Burch sandals and a new pair of Paige jeans.
I figured I deserved it after the week I had :)
