I have never started so early as I did this year but I kind of like it. I picked up 2 trucks in September for Pierce. He is obsessed with excavators and cement mixer trucks. I am slowly getting stuff and it is so much better than waiting and being stressed. Again this year we are trying for bigger items as our house is full of toys. Pierce loves this tunnel at gymnastics and so did Brady when he went for fun. I found this one at Target and with a cartwheel :)
I picked up a gas pump to gas up all their vehicles this Summer and a cute outdoor grill for the patio.
Our kids get a lot of ornaments. I always loved getting ornaments when I was little and I can still remember taking all my ornaments from my parents house when I moved out. (sniffle) My vintage ornaments make it on the tree every year. And who doesn't love a chance at personalization? Hallmark usually gets a lot of my money every year.
Brady is still into wrestling and building things so maybe Legos or Lincoln Logs. And he really wants a dirt bike. We will see about that! And our littlest Reid? I have no idea what to get him. Good thing he won't remember :)
And have I mentioned my love for the French company Leveret and their jammies? Well, the boys matching Christmas pj's have been ordered!! Their pj's are so soft, no pilling and wear so well and the price ain't too shabby either.
Happy Shopping!!

Out of Sorts
I have been feeling kind of blah lately. And no I am NOT pregnant! haha. This is unusual for me because I LOVE Fall. Work has been getting to be too much lately. I don't know how working 2 more days a month can make such a difference but it does. Since going to 10 days a month instead of 8 I am behind. I lose touch with the house. And then I'm like "when did we run out of milk?" or "who took the last fill in the blank?" This also leaves me with playing catch up on the weekends which I hate! So I am hoping something will happen and I can get back to my 2 days per week soon. Till then I will be trying to snap out of my funk.
I saw a preview of the boys fall pics that were just taken and they came out amazing. I never used this photographer before but am so happy I did!
Looking forward to our annual Christmas shoot in the beginning of December.
I'm going to blame my blah mood for the reason our next vacation got booked this week. We decided since we loved our Disney cruise so much we are going again. We were looking at Beaches Turks and Caicos resort but the age groups for their kids clubs didn't jive with our ages. Next year for sure! The cruise is 6 months away and gives us something to look forward to through this cold Buffalo winter.
I took all 3 kids to a Birthday Party yesterday so Steve could get some touching up and painting done in the family room. These boys are so hard on our walls. Then since I didn't get a chance to eat at the party, I picked up chicken dinners for the hubs and I. We are suckers for chiavetta's chicken dinners in the Summer or Fall apparently! This has kind of become our thing. It seems like there is one every weekend somewhere in WNY and this one was so close to our house we could smell it. $10 buys the best lunch ever.
After naps, we grabbed a slice at Ferro's and took the boys to a Fall Fest in Orchard Park. Brady roasted marshmallows and we all took a hay ride. P loved the horses, not the smell :) And then home for bed.
Sunday we met friends at the playground and then had lunch at Ted's. Home to watch the Bills game and then grocery shopping. We celebrated a Bills win with a little cherry cobbler, prepared by me.
Just google Pampered Chef Cherry Cobbler recipe - It's so easy!
These weekends go by too fast. It's time to start another week. Thank goodness it's only a 2 day week. Cant wait till Friday and Halloween!!

Pumpkins...finally
We had a great weekend! Our weekends are precious around here with daddy in school two nights a week. The boys really miss him. Saturday was Sweetest Day. I think this one may be a Buffalo thing?? But its a Hallmark holiday for your sweetheart. Steve took P to daddy & me gymnastics and came home with flowers.
I wanted to get my dad a little something for the new truck discount so while the babies napped Brady & I checked out the new yogurt place Hoopla. It was by a Tim Horton's so Dad got a gift card for his morning coffee runs and we got yogurt! Brady had gummy worms, frogs and bears on his watermelon yogurt and he was a happy boy. It was nice to be with just him and hear about school.
We went to a friends Halloween Party with no kids (thanks dad) and had a great time. I made bread dip and bud lights were consumed :)
Sunday after Daddy hit the Cider Mill with the boys for donuts and a morning nap for Reid we took the new truck out and rode down to Pumpkinville. We actually kind of learned things about the truck and some of the new features by going on a long ride. It was our first time going to Pumpkinville for pumpkins and I liked it a lot. It was nice, further away but no cost to get in the door that the usual place we go. But it was way colder than I expected. We had to make time! But we managed to get a bag of apples, 3 pumpkins, 2 cider sippies and a caramel apple for me. Good thing Steve didn't see the maple cotton candy! Our middle child loves animals! And he has ZERO fear around them. I tend to stay away from animals. Thank goodness for the boys rain boots and my Hunters it was a mud bowl. We had fun and then it was on to Pizza Hut to warm up. Heres the pics:
A Target run and baths and we are ready for another week to start. Halloweens coming!!

New Stuff!
I needed a new wreath for the front door. For those in between times. Like between Labor Day and Halloween (like now) or after Christmas but before Valentines Day. I turned to etsy! And found this adorable wreath by TLBurlapWreaths:
With a D of course. It takes 2 weeks to ship (boo) but I love it. I am not, nor will I ever be sick of chevron!
And I ordered a new Petunia. I wish not carrying a diaper bag was a little closer but let's face it: It's not. My petunia boxy backpack is great but huge and heavy. I feel like I'm not carrying as much stuff as I once did. So maybe this touring tote is exactly what I need! Hey I'm a sucker for free shipping.
And how bout some new bedding? Our old duvet was from The Company Store because I loved the look. However, it was linen which I didn't realize at the time is anything but warm and kind of scratchy. I have been looking for a new duvet for a while. But I needed it to have beige in it to match our curtains and some taupe for our sheets which I love. Fieldcrest Luxury from Target 800 thread count is heavenly, try 'em! Well, Pottery Barn came to the rescue and with a sale?? Shooooot!
And I ordered a new truck back in June and it will be here in 1 week!! 5 years newer and cheaper than what I pay now?? Yes Please And like Ludacris says "you can't lose with 22's" :)

We should just stop making plans
I swear every time we make plans, the kids get sick. For some reason Buffalo has been amazing with weather lately. Enjoying sunny 70+ degree weeks in September is pretty unusual but awesome. We had plans to go on a long motorcycle drive to Ellicottville to see the leaves changing and have lunch at the Gin Mill. Steve and I both had to work Friday and papa had the boys. Reid and Pierce woke up with boogery noses on Tuesday. I figured it was just a cold that Brady probably brought home from school. I was also hoping it didn't turn into an ear infection and by Friday he still seemed ok. Papa had text me at work to see if he could give Reid motrin because he seemed fussy and had a temp of 100.8. I was in the process of texting him back when Steve called me in a panic and said Reid had a seizure. Oh. Ma. Gah.
I freaked out to say the least. Ran to my car. Couldn't talk to Steve because he took the motorcycle that day and was speeding home. I got papa on the phone and 2 police officers were at the house and Reid was still seizing. The paramedics got there, started an IV and gave him versed. It didn't work and then gave him another push. Steve got home just in time and hopped in the ambulance. He said it was awful, they made him sit in the front and the entire ride was silent. He was expecting crying and the silence was unbearable. He knew Reid was unresponsive.
In 6 years since we became parents we have never went to Children's Hospital of Buffalo. With all the stress I couldn't even think of how to get there!! The 5 minute wait I had till the ambulance arrived was excruciating. I was trying to imagine my baby in a big hospital cart, trying to prepare myself. Well, there was no preparing me for that. Not that it mattered I started crying at work. My baby was all rigid, stiff arms and legs and his head was turned awkwardly to the side. He had a mask on for oxygen and was still unresponsive. They took his temp and it was 101.8. I know that's not that high so I was terrified this was going to turn out the start of a seizure disorder. I figured the temp would have to really high to cause a seizure. My baby's little heartrate was above 200. They were poking him with needles and he wasn't crying. I knew how sick he was. Thy gave him 2 doses of Ativan and still could not stop him. The Drs. and nurses hung an anti-seizure and ordered more tests. Chest x-rays, CT scans and a lumbar puncture. They asked us to leave for the LP and I waited and prayed to hear him cry. Still nothing. Having a giant needle stuck in his spine and he didn't make a peep? When they took him up to CT scan for those 7 minutes he came out of his seizure. Finally, he was making noises and his arms and legs weren't stiff. Relief!!! Reid slept for while, probably from the meds and seizure itself. He snored and snored away and we spoke with the neurologist. We needed to find out if it was a febrile seizure (fever) or if we should expect a disorder or problem with his brain. An EEG was ordered and this was the final test that would tell us why this all happened and what we should expect in the future.
And it was normal!!! Praise God. Reid was being admitted to the hospital because of the length and severity of his seizure and just to be monitored. The nurse put us in a suite that had a bed for us to sleep in. Papa stayed with the kids back home. When Reid did wake up he was stupurous. Couldn't walk and was extremely irritable. He didn't want to revert back to crawling either which was fine because the germs were everywhere! This is when things got ugly. He was sick of being held but couldn't get down. He hated the crib and with the metal sides I was worried he would fall and hit his head. Right around this time I got one heck of a migraine. Probably from all the crying I did but I lost it when I saw my strong husband cry. I was puking in the toilet when Steve got back from a trip home to get the necessities for spending the night and Reid was screaming. It was a hot mess! Finally we all fell sound asleep at 8pm. Only to wake up at 11pm super hungry because we never ate. We snuck out and took a trip down to Tim Horton's for a bagel. I got up all night long to check on Reid and because my 220 lb. husband in a twin bed - yeah not so much room. I was happy to see the sun come up. We got discharged at 10:30am and literally ran out of the hospital with Reid in my arms. I left a bumgenius cloth diaper somewhere in the room but I didn't care at that point. We just wanted to get him home. He had to spend the day in the playpen because he was just too unsteady the entire day. Sunday he got a lot better but still had droopy eyes. Monday he was almost there!! and by Tuesday totally back to normal.
Reid is at risk for having another febrile seizure because of the first one. So we need to monitor him very close when he gets sick or has shots, and medicate with motrin proactively. And we have a rescue med in case he has another one. Hoping that never gets used!! I realized how many people care about our little guy with all the texts we received. I work with so many sweet and caring people who just so happen to fabulous nurses as well.
Of course I took ZERO pictures of this entire ordeal because it was the worst day of my life. I will put that tiny hospital bracelet in the baby book. While I will never forget what Reid looked like seizing on that huge hospital cart I was so glad Steve never left our sides. And I remember how comfortable sleeping "in my spot" on his chest amid all that scariness. We held hands throughout and it has strengthened out marriage. So I guess I can be glad for that.
