Let's Hear It For The Boy!

My husband is done!!!!!  He's a nurse.  A male Nurse!

No more studying, no more being gone all day and night - we get our daddy back.  I could NOT be any prouder of him.  He worked so hard for this.  To leave the construction world to take care of sick children is amazing and not something that is done everyday.  Now we get to sit back and enjoy 3 day work weeks :)  For him - not me silly.  I only work 2 days a week and thats never going to change.  He will be doing more household stuff.  He will be doing more school drop-offs, pick-ups, dr appts, dentist appts, running to baseball and gymnastics.  Heck who knows maybe I will make him grocery shop!  But most importantly we get to spend days during the week together!  So bring on the breakfast dates, mall dates, naps, working out together - the possibilities are endless!

I am not going to lie to you - it sucks having your spouse in nursing school.  There were tears - from me and the kids.  There were times I had to bring a sick child to the doctor with the other kids, only to have that sick child cry because he wanted to go home so bad.  Except when you are doing it all your self - you have to take everybody to the pharmacy that never has the medication ready and yeah we all cried, everyone of us.  The kids had plenty of meltdowns at bedtime - how they wanted daddy, not me to put them to bed.  There were nights someone would cry themselves to sleep waiting for hi to get home.  And let me tell you it is really hard not to get resentful of your partner.  You feel like you are doing literally everything!  Even some of his jobs - garbage, changing light bulbs, changing batteries. You feel like you will break if there is one more thing that you have to do, or think of or take care of.  I would try and talk to him about what was going on with the kids and his mind was with school.  He would try talking to me about school which was the last thing I wanted to hear about so I would tune him out.  Ugh writing this makes me realize I AM SO GLAD IT IS OVER!

We deserve a trip just the two of us.  We will be taking one for sure after he is off orientation in the Fall.  Miami or a little cruise - I'm thinking its time for nurses gone wild!

Anyway, if you see this guy tell him he's awesome!
